Class Officers Application

Candidate Qualifications
• Candidates must be in good academic standing
• No more than three (3) out of school suspensions during your high school years (All districts and schools you attended grades 9-11)
• Not have more than 10 unexcused absences
Personal Skills
• Demonstrate interest and the ability in the area of the position in which you are applying
• Ability to speak in public
• Team working skills
• Be organized, resourceful, polite, honest, hardworking, reliable, punctual and committed
Accountability
• Candidates are ultimately responsible to the principal and principal’s designee.
• On a day to day basis students are responsible to the Class Advisor overseeing their duties as class officers.
Code of Conduct for Student Elections
• School Rules are to be followed at all times, including any schedule for campaigning.
• Violations of rules and regulations and codes of conduct shall be disqualified
• Campaign Speeches shall be no more than 2 minutes
• Candidates and their representatives or supporters are forbidden to use any kind of intimidation, threats, materials, food or money, with the aim of influencing votes.
General Provisions
• In the case of a tied vote, a rerun will be held. If there is still a tie then the Class Advisors and Principals will convene a meeting to cast the final vote.
• A student may run for more than one office but must indicate the primary choice. If the student’s second choice is unopposed the school authority will respect the student’s choice and appoint he/she to the position.
• Any individual with a grievance concerning any aspect of the election is free and shall be encouraged to submit a written complaint to the Class Advisor following the election.
Proper protocol will be adhered to by all candidates.
